Equipment (or Gear) is one of the several upgrading methods that the player has to upgrade his character, and can be obtained by defeating enemies or bosses.
The different gears come with different stats, abilities, as well bonus effects. The stats that gears tend to offer are Attack, Expertise, and Defense (although Defense isn't available in some equipments). Then, with those three stats, weapons can be divided into 4 different categories of statistics: Attack, Expertise, Defense, and Balanced:
- Attack gear offer more attack than expertise and defense.
- Expertise gear offer more expertise than attack and defense.
- Defense gear offer more defense than usual.
- Balanced gear tend to regulate the amount of points that all stats gives.
Gears' stats changes depending on the player / dungeon's level. By default, all gears offer a Rune Effect.
Obtaining a Rare variant of an equipment will unlock a second Item Find (or XP) Bonus and also can unlock a new Stat Bonus besides increasing the effectiveness of the existing one(s). It will also unlock it's Ability Rune, which gives a bonus to a specific Ability which varies depending of the player's class and gear type.
Obtaining a Legendary variant of an equipment will unlock a second Effect Rune and, depending of the gear, a third Stat Bonus.
